Wake up neo.... - The Matrix Reviews
Am I in the real world or not hmm that is a question we all must ask ourselves. Anyway this movie caught my attention from the moment it started till the very end. This must be the best sci-fi movie ever that gives you that feeling inside if you really are viewing such a movie. I must say it was awesome watching The Matrix very good plot and the action was great!
Take the red pill - The Matrix Reviews
A jaw-dropper. Amazing special effects, storyline, even acting. This includes Keanu Reeves (by the way, what kind of a name is "Keanu"? It sounds Hawaiin). Regardless of the name predicament, this film is awesome. Just check out my fav movies list under my profile. W/ its original storyline (yes, original) The Matrix is a movie that plans on sequels but doesn't have an open-ended ending. It still haven't seen the other two, but due to this movie's greatness, I'll have to see the sequels.
What's the real world? - The Matrix Reviews
Nobody can answer this question. I think that movie toke an idea nobody ever dreamed of. That's why I love it so much. It's my 2nd favorite movie. You see a lot of movie that are similar to some other movie, but this one is original. The effects, the visuals, the actors ... everything seems to be made and picked with thought. Life is short, so do something with it ... because who knows, we might hand on a plug ourselves!

Good - The Matrix Reviews
The concept of the story of the Matrix is very original and I commend the writers for coming up with it. Of course, the visual effects were one of the finest ever as The Matrix is considered a milestone for such achievement. The acting, I can't say blew my mind but it was adequate for the movie. This was good in my opinion.
The best movie of 1999 - The Matrix Reviews
This movie was so good. I loved the bullet time speical effects and this movie is by far one of my all-time favorites. I really like the look of the film and all the performances. It was great but Reloaded was better.
The most revolutionary movie of all time - The Matrix Reviews
Quoting Joel Silver, the producer of the Matrix trilogy - "I really think that the bar has been raised so high that, you know, there is no bar. This will end the way movies have been made up to now, because they can go no further."
Completly and utterly true.
'The Matrix' changed everything. It changes the way movies are made, it changed standards of VFX, it even changed how we look at our world. Now, anytime anything, (whether it be a movie or a commercial or a music video) has a shot that resembles the ground breaking bullet-time effect, people shout "RIPOFF!". And that's exactly what it is, taking of from the brilliance of the most revolutionary movie of all time.
It also raises questions of our world. Is our world actually real? Or do we live in a so-called Matrix? Who knows. But it will lead to discussions for many years to come.

I love the matrix!!! - The Matrix Reviews
The Matrix is an awesome and really cool movie. I didn't think it would be that good, since tons of other movie copied the special effects, but after I saw it, I was totally stunned.
This movie really made me think, what if we really are in something like the Matrix? I loved Keanu Reeves in it, and now he is one of my favorite actors! The whole concept of the movie is great and really original. I totally reccommend this movie to everyone!!!
This movie is really good - The Matrix Reviews
The stroy of this movie is kinda hard to understand. The movies action was really great. The only problem with this movie is why is it rated R. This movie should be rated pg-13
I'll say this for the matrix... - The Matrix Reviews
I'll say this for the matrix. I've watched the Movie and I understand it well, so when I read the reviews, I simply don't get the point. I'm not a clever guy and I could catch up, so why can't those who gave it a F? Also, I don't understand the fact that a movie which earned millions could deserve an F. It deserve a B at the very least. The story and visuals were all great so I gave it an an A.

Yes - The Matrix Reviews
The matrix is what ever movie since T2 will be judged by. This has to be one of the top 5 action films (for special effects ever) and then you throw great performances by Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishburne, and you have a receipe for a classic movie. This also with T2 is a must have for any DVD collection.
A"matrix"azing! - The Matrix Reviews
Is ther anything wrong with this film?! Another world, explorations of religion and philosophy, machines that must be stopped, guns...lots of guns, amazing fight scenes, Keanu in tight leathers and visuals that will melt you're mind!

Wow!! - The Matrix Reviews
The Matrix is one of the best movies of all time. It is something new, visuals and a great plot (imaginative). If you haven't seen it, you must. The action in The Matrix is awesomly awesome. And there is lots of it. You will love this movie. Good job Wachowski brothers!
The matrix - The Matrix Reviews
Great movie! I loved the first Matrix. I didn't like the two other sequels, Reloaded and Revolution, well Revotlutions was okay, but the Reloaded, not good. Keanu Reeves made a pefect Neo. I liked everything about this movie, but it has the worst kung-fu action! It's so bad, just like my dad said, amd I agree. The Matrix is a brain popping computer like trip to another world! You'll have a heck of a time!
The #1 movie ever made - The Matrix Reviews
This is at the top of the list when it comes to BEST MOVIES EVER.
This movie owns.
The Kung Fu: Perfect
The gunfights: Perfect
The acting: Perfect (Keanu may not be the best actor ever, but he WAS Neo)
The dialogue: Beyond perfect.
The philosophy: Cannot be compared to anything else. This is #1.
Agent Smith is 1,000,000 times better than Vader ever was at being the villian.
"Mr. Anderson."
Those two words are delivered with such force...
"Tell me, Mr. Anderson, what good is a phone call if you're unable to speak?"
Classic. Pure classic genius.

Free your mind... - The Matrix Reviews
"The Matrix" is one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever made. Now that it's a trilogy, it's a much better trilogy that the original Star Wars (my ex-favorite Sci-Fi trilogy).
The acting in The Matrix is killed by Keanu Reeves. While, he wasn't terrible in the movie, he wasn't good. It's pretty sad when a simple phrase as, "I know kung-fu" can cause entire theatre to bust out laughing. That's the way it was when I saw it. But, everything else about this movie makes it great. It's got awesome gun fights, awesome hand to hand combat, and most importantly, awesome special effects. That's what drew me into the movie. I wasn't expecting a great movie, but I was surprised. The Matrix is a great movie. See it if you haven't yet.
This is the greatest movie ever! - The Matrix Reviews
To sum this film up in three words I would say, WATCH THIS FILM, but I can't so here we go. The Matrix is like a film you've never seen before, pure genius. The visuals are so good and the bullet-time make it even better. The story is weird, but the actors make you want to listen. The acting is outstanding. You should definitely watch this movie!
Stunning but not suprising. - The Matrix Reviews
I did not expect this movie to be so good. I expected it to be like many other movies where the preview is the only good part. But yet I could not not wait to see it. The story was very complicated and the acting was great. The visual and sound effects were awsome. I would recomend anyone to see this you wont be dissapointed

Energetic, & visualistic - The Matrix Reviews
The best action, sci-fi flick ever created. it was the best movie I have ever seen. Production design, costume design, action sequences were the best. Acting was Marvelous, direction was spell bounding, and Keanu was 2 thumbs up,
An amazing visual adventure! - The Matrix Reviews
This movie started a huge line of copycats such as, "The One," and a scene in "Spiderman," where Spidey is nearly sliced by a razorbat. A scene in "Daredevil," where Daredevil fights with Bullseye atop a motorcycle. A scene in "X-Men," where Wolverine nearly gets thrown off of the Statue of Liberty, and grabs onto one of the spikes with his claws.
That's all I can think of right now, but I can tell you that if you love visually stunning movies, and if you love action films, or if you just like black clothing, Matrix is the movie for you.
The wachowskis must be crazy... or else. - The Matrix Reviews
A Superhero in a Virtual world. Kicks ass with Kung Fu, and no need to dodge bullets. This is the story of Superman, but using more of your brain. Without being confusing, infact, The Matrix pushes you to be more imaginable. A salute for Wachoski brothers, a no name directors but can really come up an idea with such style and wow-factor. All is great, except once said, "Bad reviews comes from bad understandings."

!! - The Matrix Reviews
Keanu Reeves does make me laugh in movies sometimes, still the movie is cool. The plot and scenes are meticulously exemplified as based on the original animated storyline. Certainly less bloated and digressive than its sequels.
My favorite movie - The Matrix Reviews
This is by far the best movie I have ever seen. Great plot visuals direction everything the sequeals are also almost equilly as great. If you have not seen these movies see them! By far the best trilogy ever made.
Woah!!!! - The Matrix Reviews

The one - The Matrix Reviews
sometimes in the hazy fog of sequelism one forgets the power of the orginal -- not so with the Matrix. I recall walking out of the cinema in Hong Kong and feeling (yes - feeling!!) like I had experienced something great. Then in this afterglow I was almost hit by a taxi....sadly my reflexes were not as fast at Neo's
First time i saw this movie and i said "wow" - The Matrix Reviews
THIS MOVIE STARTED ALL WITH SLOW MOTION BULLET SCENE AND SINCE THEN EVERY BUMB MOVIES ARE COPYING IT! THE STORY WAS EXCELLENT, ACTING WAS PERFECT (GOOD JOB KEANU REEVES) AND THE VISUALS WAS INSANE! THIS MOVIE DESERVES A+!
Best. movie. ever. - The Matrix Reviews
Rest assured, I am registering my delight on the internet within minutes :-) This movie combines deep philosophical ideas, cool technological / science fiction concepts and fast-paced action scenes all into one perfectly blended, believable script. I won't say too much about the plot, so as not to spoil it for you (if it hasn't been already), but suffice it to say that the ideas in it can make a person really think about the current state of society, or what we believe to be society. The first scene really makes a mark, and gives a really good idea of the kind of action to come later on in the movie. The best part would have to be the scene in the lobby of the government buildign where the entire thing is shot in slow motion as dozens of military guys blow the crap out of marble pillars, as they are picked off one by one by Neo and Trinity.
Reload it - The Matrix Reviews
If you haven't seen this movie, you've doubtless seen its countless imitators (The special effect where the camera coils around its subject in fast forward, then slo-mo -- in mid air -- then real time; yeah, that was this movie). Keanu Reeves awakens from a computer-generated consciousness to discover that his 1990s-seeming reality is a product of THE MATRIX -- an artificial program that farms incubated human beings to sap their energy, feeding them manufactured realities and recycled nutrients to keep them alive. Reeves is contacted by a clandestine group of subversive escapees who believe that he is their savior. They remove him from his vegetative pod and inform him that it's really the 22nd Century, that humanity has been enslaved by artificial intelligence, and that it's time to kick some virtual butt.
Almost non-stop action, dazzling special effects, and an intriguing premise blend seamlessly in THE MATRIX. The movie visits deep, philosophical questions, but moves on quickly -- before anyone can get bored -- dispensing plot cues at just the right pace to keep us focused on the story, and not distracted by the technological fireworks. Keanu Reeves carries the movie, balancing its dramatic momentum with its action quotient; knowing when to share the limelight and when to be an action hero. Laurence Fishburne is also effective as the leader of the rag-tag band of renegades, who dive headlong into THE MATRIX to contact potential recruits and sabotage the system.
Morpheus (Fishburne) teaches Neo (Reeves) how to move in that virtual world with masterful adroitness; how to bend its rules, and how to break them. Neo absorbs martial arts and street-fighting techniques by loading programs onto the modules that negotiate his interactions with THE MATRIX. He is leaping over buildings and dodging bullets in no time, confirming Morpheus' suspicion that Neo is "The One." Others among the insurgents are not so sure. Carrie-Anne Moss is Morpheus' sidekick, Trinity -- at least, until Neo comes along. She is undecided about Neo's messianic status, but decidedly more secure about his manhood.
Fantastic and entertaining as THE MATRIX is, there is still an undertow of plot dissatisfaction, for me. Perhaps, this is one of those movies you have to see a hundred times to understand. Just so you know: I wondered why the computers would generate the 1990s as the virtual reality (although beings from the future are *always* obsessed with the late 20th Century in sci-fi flicks). Why not the Stone Age -- especially, to prevent anyone from becoming computer-proficient enough to challenge the system? Plus, how could so much happen in two hundred years (birth of artificial intelligence to total supremacy of machines)? We also never understand what it means for Neo to be "The One" -- just as at the end of STAR WARS (1977) we do not fully understand "The Force," and it takes THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) to flesh it out. And, they mention a rebel city in THE MATRIX that they never show.

Top 10 greatest sci-fi movie of all time! - The Matrix Reviews
I remember the first time I saw The Matrix. It was obvious this was no ordinary motion picture! The Matrix is exceptionally brilliant in its concept, and truly a classic that is up there with Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Aliens. Keanu Reeves plays the part of Neo superbly. I cannot imagine any other actor in the part. Hugo Weaving is equally brilliant as Agent Smith! The bullet-time effects were revolutionary. The assault on the military controlled building was excellent with its battle scenes. The shoot-out in the lobby is something I could watch a million times! One of the most through provolking movies that can have you thinking for days about the "what ifs" should something like that actually happen. How would we know if we were in a matrix now, or in the real world? Truly fascinating, the matrix simply ROCKS!
The matrix - The Matrix Reviews
This is now one of my favorite movies. It was very interesting and gave us many new speacial effects.
Story
The human race is enslaved in a computer program called the matrix. They are creating power for the machines because the sky is scorched from the machines/human war. A computer hacker{Neo} is confronted by one of the few free humans named Morpheuos who beleives that Neo is the one who can save the Human race. After going through unhooking proceedures the last of the human try to free Neo's mind from the Matrix and save the human race.
Acting
The acting in this movie was fine. I thought that Reeves did very good as the one. All of the freed humans back at the ship were good.{Trinity, Morpheous, and everyone else.
Direction
The direction of this movie was great. The Wachowski Brothers did a perfect job considering they were carpenters before writing this movie. There was nothing much that I would haved changed.
visuals
Wow!!! I was stunned by the great special effects. The extreme dodging of bullets and the fight with Smith. I was absoulutley amazed. I really like how they just easily got trained to fight by loading it on to them. It was amazing.
This is one of my favorite movies.
