One of the most visually stunning movies ever - The Matrix Reviews

This is a fantastic film. It is the kind of movie that you have to watch more then once to understand. But the first time you see it, it will blow your mind. In the Wachowski Brothers' only second major picture (first being the underrated "Bound"), they managed to create one of the best science fiction stories ever. It turns out that the world we live in is a "dream world," called "the Matrix," that has been made by machines. Humans are slaves to machines, and the machines use humans as a source of energy. The real world is a place controlled by these machines, and humans must live under the earth's surface, away from them in order to survive. A man from the real world named Morpheus goes inside the Matrix to free a man named Neo. Once they get to the real world, Morpheus tells Neo the truth about the world. He says that Neo is "the One" who will end the war between man and machine and restore the world for the human race. "The Matrix" consists of a love story between Neo and one of the crew working with Morpheus, named Trinity. This is the only disappointing part of the movie because the two actors, Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann Moss, have little chemistry. Lawrence Fishburne does an outstanding job playing Morpheus. But the best acting job of the film is by Hugo Weaving. Weaving plays Agent Smith, a program in the Matrix that serves as a security system. As the form of a normal man, Smith causes problems for Morpheus and Neo as they enter the Matrix throughout the film. Overall, the actors probably did a great job either because they have the skills or because the script was amazing. The best part of "The Matrix" is the action. It is one of the most visually stunning movies I have ever seen. There are many fights in the film, and the best one comes at the end between Neo and Agent Smith. One of the signature action shots is called "bullet time," where the scene is paused and spun 360 degrees. Many other movies have immitated action techniques from "The Matrix" because the visuals are so amazing. The Wachowski Brothers certainly know what they're doing on the action front. So, if you have been living in a hole for the last six years, never considered seeing it, or didn't see enough of it to understand it; you should definitely watch "The Matrix."

A very good action flick - The Matrix Reviews

This movie is one of the best action flicks around, minus the fact that Keanu Reeves cant realy act, and the end is disapointing, but its still very good.

A great sci-fi martial arts thriller - The Matrix Reviews

Suprisingly good with a clever story and jaw-dropping special effects. This is a definite must see for pretty much everyone. The only people who shouldn't see it are are people who want to see the dreadful sequels. STAY AWAY FROM REVOLUTIONS!

The best sci-fi film in years... - The Matrix Reviews

The Matrix is by far one of the best science fiction films ever made. Written and directed by the Wachowski brothers, this post-apocalyptic story gives a look inside what we consider real and what we consider unreal. The first film, in my opinion, is the best. And it always will be. The story offers us a mind-bending concept, in which machines have tooken over the real world and trapped us in an elaborate simulation. It offers many ideas, new ideas, and updated ideas. But all of them work in the story. The film has many hidden biblical references and ones from mythology. The acting was great, starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss, and Laurence Fishburne. All of them bring us a great performance. Especially Fishburne who plays the enigmatic Morpheus. Great actors for great movies. Andy and Larry Wachowski did the best job they could for this film, and their best is excellent! Never have I seen a film with so many hidden meanings and interesting concepts. In this film almost every character has a name that can be found in the dictionary, and it will always have some relevance to the character or mythology. And of course the special effects. Magnifecent visuals. If you have already seen this film you are likely to have noticed the effects. This film has pioneered the term "bullet time", which by now is known to the public as the slow motion effects scenes that viewers have seen in all three films. Great effects for a great film. Overall this is a film I would reccomend to anyone. See it for the effects, see it for the story, see it for the philosophical mentionings, but just see it!

Wake up neo.... - The Matrix Reviews

Am I in the real world or not hmm that is a question we all must ask ourselves. Anyway this movie caught my attention from the moment it started till the very end. This must be the best sci-fi movie ever that gives you that feeling inside if you really are viewing such a movie. I must say it was awesome watching The Matrix very good plot and the action was great!

Take the red pill - The Matrix Reviews

A jaw-dropper. Amazing special effects, storyline, even acting. This includes Keanu Reeves (by the way, what kind of a name is "Keanu"? It sounds Hawaiin). Regardless of the name predicament, this film is awesome. Just check out my fav movies list under my profile. W/ its original storyline (yes, original) The Matrix is a movie that plans on sequels but doesn't have an open-ended ending. It still haven't seen the other two, but due to this movie's greatness, I'll have to see the sequels.

What's the real world? - The Matrix Reviews

Nobody can answer this question. I think that movie toke an idea nobody ever dreamed of. That's why I love it so much. It's my 2nd favorite movie. You see a lot of movie that are similar to some other movie, but this one is original. The effects, the visuals, the actors ... everything seems to be made and picked with thought. Life is short, so do something with it ... because who knows, we might hand on a plug ourselves!
